Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Welcome to the EquipmentFans knowledge base. We have compiled answers to the most common questions our clients ask regarding product sourcing, technical specifications, and our ordering processes. If you cannot find the answer you need here, please do not hesitate to contact our support team.

1. Do you only supply businesses (B2B), or can individual hobbyists purchase from you?

EquipmentFans is fundamentally structured as a Business-to-Business (B2B) distributor. Our primary clientele includes OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), facility maintenance teams, IT infrastructure managers, and engineering firms. However, we do not restrict sales. Individuals, hobbyists, or independent repair technicians who require highly specific industrial-grade cooling fans for their personal equipment are welcome to purchase through our platform, provided they understand that our products are industrial components, not consumer electronics.

2. I have a broken fan, but the label is worn off. Can you help me find a replacement?

Yes, our sourcing specialists are highly experienced in identifying unidentified components. If the label is unreadable, please send an email to our support team containing: clear photographs of the fan from multiple angles, the exact physical dimensions (length x width x thickness in millimeters), the operating voltage if known (e.g., from the machine’s manual), and the type of connector or wire configuration. We will utilize our cross-reference database to recommend the closest possible match.

3. How do I know if a recommended “Alternative” or “Cross-Reference” fan will actually work in my machine?

When we suggest an alternative model, we base our recommendation on matching the critical performance specifications: physical footprint, mounting hole spacing, operating voltage, airflow (CFM), and static pressure. However, it is ultimately the buyer’s and their engineer’s responsibility to review the provided technical datasheets to ensure complete compatibility with their specific application, especially regarding specific PWM control signals, tachometer outputs, or unique environmental requirements.

4. Why do some products show “Request a Quote” instead of an “Add to Cart” button and a price?

Due to the vast nature of the industrial fan market, the volatility of global supply chains, and the highly specialized nature of certain part numbers, we cannot maintain live inventory and fixed pricing for every single SKU in our directory. Items marked as “Request a Quote” require our team to manually verify current factory lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and up-to-date pricing with our manufacturing partners before we can issue you a formal, binding proforma invoice.

5. Can I get a discount for a large volume order?

Absolutely. We strongly support OEM production runs and large-scale facility upgrades. If you require a substantial quantity of a specific cooling fan or blower, please submit a Request for Quote (RFQ) specifying your target volume. Our sales team will work directly with the manufacturers to secure the most competitive volume-based pricing tier for your project.
